Sisters, Pancakes, & A Date Night All Wrapped Up in ONE

5 am came way to early this morning. I got up extra early this morning, so I could make it to school by 7am to help set up for my sororities Philantrophy event we hosted today. This is the 6th year Phi Mu has held their annual Miracle Breakfast. We make pancakes and sell them to help raise money for Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. We are so lucky to get to work with Riley! Today we raised $1000!!! for the kids! I think that was a job well done for us ladies today.

This girl is one of my best friends in Phi Mu. I am so proud of her for getting into the Nursing School this past semester. I can't wait to join her next fall if I get in! Fingers Crossed!!!
Our Philantrophy chair Shelbi did an awesome job today putting on this event for us & designing our super cute aprons! I can't wait to wear it now when I cook and bake :)

My lovely big sis and I with our letters! I am going to be so sad when she graduates in May. I am going to spoil her though with some lovely Alumni gifts since she hinted hard core at it today. Haha I love this girl more than she will know. I'm going to be lost without her!
My other Katie! I love this girl sooo much. She is one smartie pants and is someone I look up to more than she would even know. Sorry for looking like a boy. Mehh..my hat doesn't quite fit my head right.
Other than having so much fun with my sisters today, me and a friend took a little drive around downtown Indianapolis for my Sociology class project. I sat in the passenger seat in my own car for once while she drove me around. I have never realized how beautiful Indy really is since I am always driving and paying attention to the road. My professor mapped out a route he wanted us to follow and observe the different areas that the route had lead us through. My favorite part of the whole drive was going down Meridian Street. There were so many beautiful mansions on this street that I never would have noticed, because I normally don't travel on the street. Even saw the Governor's house! Freaking huge but so beautiful.

Well as you can see my day was full of activities so I definitely didn't get any workout in today sadly. I might just have to hit the gym extra hard the rest of this week to get my bootay back at it. No more junk food for this girl its back at fruits, veggies, whole grains, and protein for me!

Snow Days! ❄⛄

Even though my campus refuses to cancel classes I made the decision to just not go and risk my life driving in these slippery conditions, so with that said I'm having myself a snow day!! Who would have thought we would be having this kind of weather at the end of March?! It's suppose to be Spring.  Well it looks like I am going to be very productive today and get some of my projects I have been dying to show you all up on the blog today!! So excited to share what I have been working on :)
Stay tuned!

Last Weeks Craziness

My week is looking very good I will say. The week was started off in a pretty exciting way on Monday!! My night class got cancelled..Heck ya! Zumba was on my mind the whole day since I normally can't go on Monday nights. It's kind of sad that I would rather workout than go to class ha well not really. Having a night class from 6 pm to 8:40 is not my ideal way of spending my Monday evenings, so I was very excited I got to go to Zumba and shake my booty. On Tuesday's I don't have class so I can relax, do homework, sleep in, etc, all the things that make me want to procrastinate from doing anything school related really, so homework is normally the last thing I want to be doing. I woke up with a little motivation to knock out all my homework for Wednesday though..how ironic. It helped that my boyfriend had to work because oh boy is he distracting. Love him to death but whenever we hang out there's no homework getting done for me!!! We either lay in bed all day like complete bums, watch endless episodes of Sons of Anarchy or Weeds, pig out on junk food, or go for walks in the neighborhood..which isn't really an option right now since the weather is so unpredictable here in the Hoosier state. Even though I spent sometime with him on Tuesday I managed to stay focused on my school work. It probably was the two sugar loaded cups of coffee I had in the morning though..never again will I do that. I felt like complete shit the rest of the day unfortunately. And I was so glad I had this day off from school because we had a crazy gun man on campus Tuesday. I would have been scared shitless if I was there for sure. But any-who...On Wednesday I got up for my 9 am class and got the day started with some eggs for brain food. I drive about an hour to school so I make sure I get up extra early to have breakfast and time to get ready before my hour drive adventure begins. I always pack myself snacks and lunch for school as well because man does it get expensive buying food on campus. Even though I bought a large cup of coffee..yikes. I have a little break between my classes, so I knocked out some more homework in the library with my large cup of coffee.
I so needed it I was dragging a little bit by the time noon hit, good thing I get done with classes at 4:15 on Wednesdays. Just in time for me to make my 6:30 Zumba class.
Not only was this week nuts with my crazy agenda but I managed to get two workouts in on Thursday. I have never felt any better in my life after going to them though. Pretty sure I burned off 700 calories...woohoo!! On Friday I can't even remember what I did..oops where had my memory gone. Well that was my crazy week (last week) in a nutshell.

Today (Sunday) March 24th we got a crazy snow storm in my Hoosier state. My morning class has been cancelled already so now if all my other classes could just do the same for me I'd be one happy camper! Maybe I can work on some projects I want to put up on the blog such as my cute fitness journal I have been dying to post along with my "pounds lost" "pounds to go" craft. Stay tuned tomorrow because they could be up on the blog if I get a snow day!! Fingers crossed but in the mean time hope everyone is staying safe and warm as this storm hits many states across the nation!
What the hell happened to spring?!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Top o' the morning to you! Happy St. Patty's Day everyone. Hope you all are getting on your festive gear and celebrating the day away. I'm wearing my green today!

To start off my morning I was going to make some green pancakes but I couldn't seem to find any food coloring so I had to just settle with regular yellow pancakes. These pancakes though aren't just any ole pancakes I made some delicious banana egg cakes this morning!! Yummmmmy in my tummy! Since I've been changing the ways I've been eating I had to find a healthier way to have pancakes and boy did I find a way! These mini cakes only have 31 calories in them. What could be better than that! My total calorie count this morning for 5 cakes was 155 calories! Now that's pretty awesome. I will never have to by pancake mix again because here is all you need to make them.
The ingredients:
2 eggs & 1 banana

Sounds simple enough I hope! All you do is mix these two together. Don't worry if you have clumps of bananas that's okay. Set your griddle on medium or high and pour 1/4 of your batter on your griddle. Let each cake sit for 45 secs then flip and voila they are done!
Calories 31 per mini cake

I sprinkled some cinnamon on mine and added some syrup.

These were a delicious breakfast. Can't wait to try something else to share with you all!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Trying New Things

So yesterday I decided to try a new workout class at my gym. It was called body sculpting and I loved it!!! Definitely felt my muscles working the whole time and can't wait to go back! It was great because it helps with toning, which is something I'm lacking big time. After body sculpting I waited about an hour before my Zumba class and that was another great workout. My heart rate is always racing at high speeds in those classes and I'm burning so many calories when I go, another big plus!! Well that was my workout for Wednesday now on to what I ate I had a lot of fruit yesterday. Never can go wrong with eating fresh fruit.
What's on the menu?
Breakfast: Greek mango yogurt
Snack: cuties orange and sting cheese
Lunch: Honey ham sandwich on whole wheat with light mayo and spinach with some baby carrots.
Snack: apple with almonds
Dinner: pork chops, corn, mashed potatoes, and cottage cheese with peaches.
Water consumption 75 oz

Workout of the day: Eliptical, abs, and biking!

Today was a very productive day! I got up went to work and worked my tail off. After work I hit up the gym with my friend, aka the best workout buddy ever, and we hit the gym hard today. It started off by briskly walking around the track for a warm up and then abs was next on the agenda! I used a stability ball and did crunches on it. By 30 I was feeling the burn. After getting in some abs we went on to the Eliptical. This is one of my favorite machines in the gym. Today I set it to one of the programs for 35 mins and that has got to of been one of the best workouts I have done on the Eliptical. After my time was up I went straight to the bike and did that for only 15 mins. My legs were so tired that if I did anymore I probably wouldn't have made it down the stairs. Well that was my workout in a nutshell today along with working out my eating habits have been so much better and I am so proud of the changes I have made along the way. So here's today's menu....

Whatcha got cooking!?
Breakfast: banana
Snack: orange, 1 oz of almonds, and water
Lunch: spinach salad and carrots with water
Snack: apple
Dinner: 5 scallops, 1 cup green beans, 1 baked potato, and 1/2 cup of pasta noodles. I also had some of my freshly brewed green tea with honey!

Zumba...Shake Yo Booty

Oh the joy of getting up to a 6 am alarm on my spring break for work. I was asked many times today why I wasn't in Florida.. Ha my smart ass comes back with something very snappy. I can't afford that I'm a broke college kid that's why my ass is working here. Wasn't a bad days of work though thank goodness. After work though I hit the gym for some Zumba. Ah I love dancing my booty off to some good tunes. My instructor is so fun and up beat with the dances she chooses and the songs she plays, so glad she gives us a nice sweaty workout.  My friend and cousin came with me tonight to class so that was a lot of fun too minus the wacking each others flapping arms and running into one another because we didn't know the dance very well. But to me that's the most fun part about it, you don't have to be the best dancer and know all the moves but as long as your having fun and moving around is really all that matters! I wish I had some post workout pictures because I was looking pretty good afterwards I must say haha.

Whatcha got cooking?
Breakfast: Advocare meal replacement bar
Snack: apple and 1 oz of almonds
Lunch: rice and baby carrots
Dinner: tacos! We have been having these a lot lately.
Snack: sun chips (harvest cheddar) ahh I just couldn't eat one :(
Water consumption: 85oz of fluids (I so had to pee a gazillion times today, the only downfall of drinking so much water)

What have you all be doing to change your lifestyle?

Shredding the Fat Away!

It's incredible to see how much more endurance I have from just day 1 to day 4 when I do Jillian's Shred DVD. On day 1 I couldn't even make it through the whole workout without feeling light headed, but now I'm powering through the workout like it's no one's business. Don't get me wrong it's still hard as hell. I'm exhausted when I get done, but if I want to see change I have to stick to a plan! Hopefully by day 30 I have shredded at least 10 pounds off, but we will see. With a well balanced diet and working out everyday I hope I can get to my goal.
Whatcha got cooking?!
Breakfast: strawberries and apples
Lunch: cottage cheese and pineapples
Dinner: baked spaghetti
Snacks: root beer float :/

Friday Recap & Saturday's Agenda

Yesterday I took my Teas Test...it went okay. Wish I would have done way better, but oh well no changing it now. After my test though I hit up TJMAXX!! One of my favorite stores. I found a cute charging station that I put next to my bed to organize all my cords for my iPhone and iPod. Looks pretty nice on my dresser..must say. I also bought a few pairs of really cute Nike shorts and a sports bra. Never can have enough active wear! Even though I bought active wear I didn't get in my workout yesterday. I plan on getting that in tonight when I get home later.
Today I have spent all day with Clay and it was a very nice and relaxing day for us both. We woke up around 9 because he had to work, so I laid in bed and watched some Sons of Anarchy. This TV show is so addicting to watch that I watched 3 episodes today! I was so glad when my babe got home though. He took me out to lunch today and we came back home and just cuddled. Cuddling is my favorite thing to do on a lazy day for sure.

Work it out Thursday!

Can't believe it's already Thursday! That means tomorrow's FRIDAY!! I can't wait for 3 o'clock tomorrow. I am taking my TEAS test for nursing and I'm so nervous. Ahh fingers crossed I do well. As for hours of studying today I still got in my workout! I did Jillian Micheal's Shred DVD again today, and it was much easier than yesterday I must say, but I still was a sweaty hot mess afterwards. I took some photos for my progress and looking back on the older photos I have made some major changes! I was so happy when I could see the physical difference in these photos. Sometimes when trying to lose weight we don't notice the changes like others around us do. My sisters are always giving me complements on how good I look and that's something I always smile about. It's nice to get words of encouragement as well. I just have some of the best sisters I could ask for!!
I took some photos of the food I ate today to give you all an idea of what I eat.
What's on today's menu:
Breaskfast: hot apples and cinnamon
Lunch: turkey wrap with lettuce and honey mustard. And a side of strawberries.
Dinner: cottage cheese with pineapples (okay I realize this isn't much of a dinner but I wasn't very hungry haha)
Snacks: almonds, banana, AdvoCare's spark.
Water Consumption: 64 oz of H2O

Workout of the Day: SHRED DVD

Holy crap did I get my butt kicked tonight with the workout I chose to do. I have Julian Michael's Shred DVD and I highly recommend it if your looking for a really good workout. I have tried so many workout DVDs and lets be honest I probably do them for a solid week and call it quits. Well not this time, I'm going to stick to this 30 days of shredding fat and gaining & toning muscle. I love the full body system she does and it is extremely effective, at least for me. I like working on certain areas like the legs and arms but to work all your muscles in one workout is even better!
Just and FYI I just did this workout like 30 mins ago! Definitely needed a nice shower afterwards didn't think I was as sweaty as I was, but was completely wrong. This might be bizarre but I love to sweat! It makes me feel like I actually worked hard throughout any physical activity.
Tonight for Phi Mu's chapter we had a self defense trainer come in and show us some moves. Now that was super cool!! I learned some moves I can put on my perpetrator and a few tips that I will for sure be using if I ever need too. This was kinda like a workout too because there was punching a hand bag and knee jabbing as well. Never thought in my life I'd take a self defense class but so glad I got the chance!

All smiles from learning some fun exciting moves!!

Now that's what we really look like. What a fun night we all had. A big thank you to Circle City Safety for coming and giving us a mini-session! We enjoyed it!!

What's On Today's Menu:
Breakfast: banana and glass of water
Lunch: chicken Caesar wrap with lettuce, cucumbers, hummus, and a little bit of caesar dressing and a nice glass of water
Dinner: Wisconsin Mac n cheese with chicken and hot sauce. Organic iced tea
Snacks: unsalted almonds with lots of water throughout the day
Water consumption: 72 oz of H2O

It's A Winter Wonderland

Don't you just love the snow?! I love feeling like a kid again and going out and building snowmen and riding on my papa's snowmobile. My best friend and I have had a good few runs with the beast machine. Today here in Indiana we started to get rain then it turned to thick white snow!!! One thing I really dislike about snow though is driving in it. My blue Pontiac can only handle so much and today that baby was fish tailing all over the place. Kinda had my heart racing a few times, but I somehow learned to be a badass driver in the snow. Haha. The weather here is seriously like a hormonal women. You never know what it is going to be like, one day it could be 40 degrees (in winter months) and then the next day it's freaking 16 degrees!! Apparently tomorrow out weather is suppose to be in the 50's so that means slushy roads are going to be my morning challenge. I took some photos of the snow coming down today. Must say they are kinda cool and pretty.

It's LEGS day!!

I love my legs. They are getting toned and slimming down every day I have been really seeing a different. No longer can you call me THUNDER THIGHS! I have found a really amazing leg workout that only includes 3 moves and it works your butt off literally. My ass burns after about the first set. So here's the run down of what you do...
Do the workout 3 times through
15 walking lunges
15 lunges with alternating twist (each leg)
20-25 squats
That is all that you have to do to get those sexy sculpted legs we all are dying for. Try to do the workout 2-3 times a week if you want results quickly. I love this workout the most out of all the leg workouts out there. It's super simple and there are only 3 moves. What more could you want out of a workout. Just FYI this workout will probably make your legs very sore either during or right after the workout. I did this workout for the first time about 2 months ago and I seriously couldn't walk down the stairs of the gym after I was done working out. I probably should have only done like 2 sets instead of the 3 because my legs took a brutal beating. Not mentioning this to scare anyone, but only do what you can don't push yourself to where it's going to physically hurt you. I wish someone would have told me that when I did this workout for the first time because I wasn't only sore after the workout but for like the next 4 days as well.
My food diary.
Breakfast: 2:1 ratio of egg whites to whole egg with bell peppers and my AdvoCare MNS and omega-plex (fish oil pill)
Snack: Almonds with an orange
Lunch: Salad with veggies and chicken
Snack: AdvoCare's Spark (best energy drink ever without added sugars!!!)
Dinner: Chicken, green beans, and brown rice.

Trip to Northern Indiana

On Saturday my boyfriend and I attended his cousins wedding. We had planned to leave at like 9am for our 3 hour ride adventure but we didnt roll out of bed until 10:30. Ooopsy. As for rushed showers and just throwing on clothes we were off up to Elkhart, IN. I have never been up there before so I was excited for the travel, minus all the pitstops for my over active bladder. Not kidding you only 30 minutes on the road and I had to pee like a race horse. Thankfully I didnt have to hold it for the next 10 miles until we came up on a gas station, because there were stations like every 4 miles it seemed. We made it up there around 2 where we met Clay's parents at their hotel to change into our wedding attire. Overall the wedding was fun. It was nice to spend it with his family and see how happy the newlyweds were.

Dress & Coral Cardigan -> Charolette Russe

Workout Monday: ABS!!

Today's Workout!!!

What is on today's food menu! Breakfast I had 2:1 ratio of egg whites and whole egg. I mixed in some bell peppers for additional flavor. Scrambled are my favorite way to have eggs. Lunch I ate a spinach salad with carrots, and bell peppers again with a side of ranch dressing. A nice glass of water as well helps with feeling full. Dinner I am going to have a Meal Replacement Bar by AdvoCare. They are so yummy and filling. Apples with peanut butter are the side I chose for an optional side if needed.
Always have extra snacks in between meals too. This is what keeps your metabolism fueling throughout the day. I pack almonds and fruit or veggies for my snacks. Find something you like such as grapes, apples, carrots, celery, etc. to have for a healthy snack and to keep you fueled up all day!

New Blog Series!!!

I have decided that I wanted to start a blog series to help track my progress with the workouts I do. It finally came today!!!

Im so excited to start doing this DVD. I have so many workout DVDs, but I really really want to try this one and stick it out for the full 30 days. Along with sharing my workout journal I wanted to start keeping a journal that I talked about in some previous posts about the foods I eat. When I have some sort of accountability with a journal I will be more likely to get my ass a moving and get motivated. I have been lacking some extreme energy levels lately and it's granted probably staying up til 2am browsing on the Internet for clothes, random shit I dont need, etc., but that's fixable. I have noticed at times I find myself polishing off a whole bag of lays without even realizing it. Sometimes I just can't help myself. Yummmmm.
So with that I am starting up a workout series featuring my workout for the day along with a food diary. I am thinking about having links for each workout so you can all follow along. I hope to have my first post to this new series on Monday, so keep and eye out!! I'm really excited to start this because I'm kicking 2013's butt already with my weight loss journey.  Just incase you all need a little inspiration (this is seriously the most embarrassing thing ever) but this before and after is from February 3rd-February 22nd. I have a long ways to go but overall I have lost a total of 13lbs!! I couldn't believe this small transformation.

I am willing to help out anyone to get amazing results and that is why I want to start this series on my blog.
Summer will be here before we know it!! HELLO BIKINI TIME!!
My screensaver I think was taunting me while I was thinking about this blog post, because it kept putting beaches and palm trees in my face. I cant wait for the summer :) Not only is it my favorite time of the year, but my 21st birthday is in JUNE! Holla!!

This one is one of my favorites :) So pretty!
