SP & B's 100th Post!

I can't believe this is my 100th blog post! It seems just like yesterday when I started this blog and was writing about whatever I wanted. It took me awhile to get the hang of everything but I slowly figured it out. There are still some things I am completely clueless about such as how to make my site more appealing with web designs and such. I also suck at blogging frequently as if you all couldn't tell. :)

Sooo as I mentioned in my last post I was welcoming SP & B to YOUTUBE.......yea no! I had two videos ready to go and upload and they were gonna take 4+ hours to download so I said heck with it! I am going to try and start my "vlogging" on the blog so bear with me, but I will get this thing going and it should actually be a lot of fun. I am really excited to start it and share with you guys my progress. Not to mention this week is coming to an end of week #2 of the LiveFit program I started doing. It is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be so I am pretty excited everyday to get my booty to the gym.

It is hard to post photos like this but I want to show all my followers and readers that I am working hard to better my life. This photo was taken last week on Monday my very 1st day on the new program. I can't wait to keep sharing progress photos and make comparisons on how my body is changing.
If y'all want to join me the plan is completely free on bodybuilding.com
It is super easy to follow and the workouts have not been to difficult especially if you are a beginner. I am having a lot of fun with it so far and can't wait for next weeks workouts!

That is all I have for this post today, and I am off to the gym!! Byeeee

Let's Rewind

Take me back to May when summer classes haven't started up yet and I was still working 7-3 not 7-11. Ever since I have been on 3rd shift and taking my two summer classes I have been falling short in every area of my life! I have not been able to find any balance this summer. This chicka has been on the struggle bus more times than she can count and I really hope it starts getting better soon.

Working nights has drained me physically and mentally to where I have not been working out or really eating that great to be completely honest. All bullshit aside I have probably gained 5-10 lbs which I hate admitting. Life happens ya, ya, ya, but I just when I was starting to see progress and losing a little, WHAM the train was put to a halt and I was hitting a wall. My dieting went from clean, lean, and green, to carbs, soda, and alcohol. Not to mention I was working out 6-7 days a week sometimes 2 times a day to BAM absolutely nada. This became very frustrating for me, and I am actually a little depressed I think because of it, but only I can change it. So let this be motivation to you all and never give up on yourself. Look forwards and not backwards :)

I think I only did because I saw no success for myself. I was only getting 5 hours a sleep most days, working 10 hour shifts, and having assignments due every other day. There was no room for me time which was gym time.

This past week has been more focused. I have been eating better but not 100% and there is a lack of balance most days. I have worked out only twice so far, but I count my job as physical activity sometimes. Like this week has been very draining so for me work has been counting for something. I am very happy that tonight is my FRIDAY though! It's almost the weekend! I can't wait because Saturday morning I am hitting up my zumba class then heading to Ohio for some shopping at IKEA!!

Not only have I been looking for new furniture but I am now on a hunt for a NEW CAR! Yea as if I didn't have enough problems before with my car I am now doomed. This is off subject of dieting, but I am a little messed up all around ha. So the other morning last week I got off work at 4:30 am and I was heading home. I kid you not my car decided to go bat shit crazy and shoot out a fireball out of the hood.  Never been more scared in my life until then. I am pretty sure I saw my life flash before my eyes...oh no wait it was a freaking flame saying hey I think I am going to blow up on you! So yea now every time I drive it I am on the edge of my seat just waiting to eject from my car. Oh yes you heard that right the baby still runs, I really don't know how and if it is even still safe to drive, but I am managing until I find a car that's in my budget.

So with all that aside I am still breathing and living happily as I ever could. I am seriously ready though to get myself  back on a normal schedule, start sleeping at night, and lose about 25 lbs! Who's with me..haha..okay my random ass is done rambling.

Staying Motivated While On 3rd Shift!

I have been working nights for a little over a month now and I am starting to feel my body become shot and worn out from one the lack of sleep, keeping up on my homework, and working overtime. This schedule is seriously the worst! I have no idea why I loved it last summer....CRAZY.
I can't wait for my summer classes to end so I can get back on days and into a routine.
My workouts have been here and there because of how unmotivated I am. So if anyone reading this is working nights and is a health freak like me...this question is for you! How do you stay motivated and set on a schedule? My schedule changes all the time because some days I come home and sleep and others I stay up til noon. When I first started this shift I was working out 7 days a week and eating a super clean diet, but lately I miss my workouts because all I want to do is sleep and I eat maybe two meals a day now. My appetite is super suppressed and I'm never hungry but this obviously is still horrible for my metabolism. I am in such a slump...
Last Friday I managed to get in 2 miles but this was only because I took my advocare slam a couple hours before I got off work and was wired!
I followed my run with a delicious bowl of yogurt and seeds.
Other than this meal my others were shitty and not clean. I think I ate a deli sandwich with potatoe chips...
So basically I am sucking! Would love anyone's advice on how to get my butt back in gear and lose this weight Ive been trying to get off this summer.

She's Feeling 22!

It's my 22nd birthday! I am super excited but then again I'm like shit I'm one year older. There really isn't any set plans for this old fart, but last night a group of us went out on the town. It was rather interesting and there were a bunch of  shenanigans that happened.

Me and my friend Trenelle were playing some beer pong and laughing our asses off about the most random stuff.

Last year my 21st fell on a Sunday so Clay took me out on Saturday at midnight. That was one hell of a roller coaster ride.

My friend Sammy and her man came out with me and Clay last year and made it one special birthday.

Made a trip to Indy to see all my girls for the next weekend and it was a blast!

This girl made my birthday last year! I love my big :)

Shelby made me my 21st paddle. I absolutely loved it!

This guy made my 21st birthday last year so special. He spoiled me and went all out, took care of me while vomiting, and made sure it was the best 21st birthday I could ever have.
Unfortunately he couldn't celebrate my 22nd birthday with me because he went on vacation with his dad and brother to our favorite place on earth, Minnesota! I can't wait until he comes home though so we can go out and celebrate :)

Not much occurred today I came home and cleaned my room, slept for a couple of hours and then woke up for work. About an hour before work I felt horrible, so I stayed home tonight. Pretty sure my brother gave me what he had for three days. Not looking forward to this...
I am going to try and get some rest though and hope when I wake up I feel much better.

Short Leg-day Circuit

I LOVE leg day....said no one ever! Okay maybe some of you crazy nuts out there do, but me not so much. I will love it when cellulite is gone and I have some hot sexy legs, but for no just NO, NO, NO, & NO!
So after I stuffed my belly full of delicious food yesterday for my grandma's easter dinner I just had to go to the gym and get some type of workout in. I decided to do 25 minutes of cardio plus a little circuit of legs. I was so uncomfortable with my body swelling and being so stuffed that I was totally fine with a small workout.
Not to mention my arms and shoulders where killing me from the previous days workout, so I wanted to avoid working those muscles again. Ha.

Well here is my fat ass on the arc trainer...

I was so ready to be done at like 10 minutes..ugghh pushed through and got sweaty.

The aftermath...

So here is my short circuit I completed yesterday
Round #1:
Leg Press- 50 lbs 12 reps
Calf Raises- 20 reps
Air Squats- 12 reps
Repeat for 2 more rounds!

BOOM! That is it!
I am so ready to shred this shit & get in shape for my wedding!

Happy Easter!

Hope you all enjoy today with your family and eat some good food. I am starting a new meal plan and work out routine tomorrow so I am going to enjoy some yummy food today before I start cutting out all the good sheeet. :)
This morning I kept my breakfast simple with some eggies, cinnamon whole wheat toast, a green apple, & some dunkin donuts chocolate glazed donuts coffee. **HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH**

I had a little snack 2 hours later which consisted of a kiwi & a Jell-O Sugar Free Dark Chocolate pudding cup. It was so good and curved my chocolate craving. Since it's easter and my favorite candy is the Reese's, the eggs are probably my favorite! Although, today I am not giving in so anyone reading this please eat an egg for meeee! :)

This picture was from yesterday before my workout with my best friend. She pushed me to my limits yesterday and I am so glad she did! We did a 3 round circuit of 6 workouts. I wish she would have taken a couple of pictures of what we did, but here is the workout...

Cardio
Arc Machine for 20 minutes, hill intervals on level 4 resistance at 65. AKA a freaking KILLA!
Round 1
Assisted Pullups-12 reps
Assisted Dips-12 reps
Air Squats-12 reps
Abs (crunches) for 1 minute as many as you can get.
Row Machine- 12 reps
Lat Pull Down- 12 reps
Rest for 1 minute
Repeat 2 more rounds

Try this workout and you will feel it the next day I promise! I took my nighttime recovery from AdvoCare and it worked wonders on my muscles helping them repair throughout my goodnights sleep. If you are an athlete or doing any kind of physical activity this product is something to try!

Workout Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!
Today was a wonderful day full of work, relaxation at home, and a nice evening walk with my brother and our dogs. I have been trying to get back to working out regularly, but this weather has made it hard for me to find motivation. Being cooped up all winter has felt like hibernation mode, which was kicked up to full blast. I am super surprised a snow storm hasn't snuck its way back into our lives by now by the way that winter was going. The weather now is calling for DAMN TORNADOS!! What the hell is going on with mother nature?! I would just love some 50s-60s sunny with green grass and flowers :) *wishful thinking*
Anyways....
My gym membership ran out mid-march and I haven't felt like getting a new one. I don't see the point in paying for one when I like to be outside and the weather is starting to finally warm up a bit. Running is something I have slightly started to like a little bit more these days, and running outside vs the treadmill just isn't the same. Getting some fresh air while running is the best mode enhancer and releases endorphins making everything that was shitty turn okay. Even though running might not be that fun it is a great workout.

So tonights walk was about 40 minutes steady pace, stopping every couple of minutes so the dogs could mark over each others piss spots. Drove me nuts! Getting some fresh air this evening was well overdue and much needed, so I am glad I took the time out of my evening to go.

I challenge you to take just 30 minutes of your day to get some type of physical activity in. Whether it is a quick walk or run just 30 minutes will add up throughout the week. Doing this 5 times a week will add up to 150 minutes of physical activity for the week which can help you improve your health. No matter why you decide to workout your body will thank you for doing it and you will notice a difference in your energy levels as well.

If your working out for more than 30 minutes a day at higher intensity levels a pre and post workout may be something to look into. AdvoCare has many great products for enhancing your workouts and giving you maximal results. Check them out here AdvoCare
I love these products and use them every time I do a workout.
I love these two products they make a great combo pair for a pre-workout!

Hope you all have a wonderful hump day & enjoy some type of activity this evening :)

Overnight Oats Recipe

Okay so I may be new to this concoction called overnight oatmeal. Why have I not ever tried this before a few days ago!? It is heaven in my mouth delicious! I have decided to share with you all my couple of recipes I have been trying out and they are mighty tasty.

Simply Pure & Beautiful Overnight Oats

Ingredients:
1/4 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of greek yogurt
1/4 cup of chia seeds
ANY FRUIT YOU WANT
***I used blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and a banana***

Directions:
Mix your oats, yogurt, and chia seeds together and let sit overnight in refrigerator. In the morning combine your oats and your fruit together and enjoy! You can eat them cold or hot whatever you prefer. They taste great cold in my opinion.

Hope you enjoy this delicious treat! It makes quite a bit. I could only eat half of what I made, so if you need to reduce your measurements that may help save food from going to waste :)

Life Lately

I just want to send out a huge apology for the lack of postings lately. We just recently got Internet, so hopefully my blogging will start to be more consistent. Living out in the country makes it challenging to finding an affordable Internet provider, but we did it! After switching back and forth between providers we finally have WiFi no more dial-up for us country folks.
With that being said I plan on making it my goal to write up at least 10 new blog postings a month and as I get ideas generated I will start blogging more. Brainstorming post will be my biggest challenge, because I feel there are many health and fitness blogs out there and Pinterest is an easy place to find what you are looking for. I hope to make my blog something bigger and it all will start with providing you all with beneficial information in my postings. I have came up with a few of my own recipes which I wrote down so I will not forget them. My plan is to start crafting up some healthy recipes and share them with you all on the blog.
I need my followers to help get my blog out there! I want to help you all with whatever you are searching for from my blog and I hope I can assist you in what you are looking for.
So with all of that being said...here has been my life lately.
I have continued with my AdvoCare journey and have consistently stuck to eating healthy.
Follow my instagram @shelbyrenee9210 to see the foods and workouts I post :)
Other than that I am in my Senior year of college taking 18 credit hours and working 30 hours a week.  Life has been moving way to fast and I wish things would just slow down a tad bit, so I can actually wrap my head around everything that is occurring.
Check back tomorrow for a new breakfast recipe that I have been trying that last couple of days! It's delicious and you won't want to miss out!
