What A Champion Breakfast Looks Like

When you hear the word "Champion" what image pops in your head? For me personally one of those big sumo wrestlers from China or Japan (not sure which one ha) holding up their belt is the image I get. Okay, okay but really we all have our own image of what something looks like when we hear a certain phrase.
So today I am revealing what my Champion Breakfast looks like. Since starting AdvoCare back in November of 2012 I have learned a lot about how different foods you consume work on your body. I am no nutritionist but I feel as if these foods really have helped me slim down my waist line and drop 20 lbs! Every breakfast should have 3 components. A protein, complex carb, and fruit! Now these can all be your own choice as long as they are those three things. Here is what I chose this morning.
I chose one whole egg and an egg white. It's best to eat egg whites because the yolks of the egg contain cholesterol. If there is one thing my physiology class taught me was we should try to cut back on cholesterol; our bodies already make it for us. If you haven't guessed it yet that was my protein! :)
Now for fruit as you can see I chose just a handful of blueberries and a couple strawberries. Berries have all kinds of benefits for our bodies, so head to the store and getcha some!
You may be looking at this picture and asking yourself what the hell that is! Well it's oatmeal with almond milk! I think I put way to much milk than oats but it still tastes great. I have never really been a huge fan of oatmeal but I'm slowly starting to like it. I make my own with rolled oats and almond milk. Sometimes I'll add in some brown sugar to give it a sweeter taste but the almond milk really helps with that. If you've never tried it before I would suggest giving it a shot! It's actually pretty tasty.
Oatmeal is a great food for weight loss so if your looking for food to help aid in your success this is one to go to. It's also considered a complex-carb.

The little green pills on my plate are my supplements from AdvoCare! I am on the MNS E system and love it. Working nights for a couple straight months has put a toll on my body, and this product has helped me reboot a little bit and is giving me energy! Interested in trying this product contact me at srwadvocare@gmail.com or go to my microsite and send me a message. I would be happy to help anyone go in the right direction and help them with the success they are looking for!
Here is just one of my friends that I helped lose 15 lbs by using AdvoCare.
She truly rocked her 24 Day Challenge and I am so proud of her!

You've got your champion breakfast, now it's time to eat!!
Enjoy! :)

Accomplishments are a coming!

In 3 days it will be August! Where did the month of July go?! My summer has been flying by and I haven't done much of anything with the free time I get. My schedule has looked a little something like this...work, sleep, eat, work, sleep, eat, hangout with Clay (occasionally) and then repeat. I haven't cleaned or organized anything for 2 months! That's not like me. I have decided that when August comes rolling in I'm making myself a list of things I wanna accomplish for the month and I better cross everyone of them off it.
#1 is to workout everyday. I've noticed I have been slacking this past month. Today was the first day I've been back in the gym in awhile. I'll be feeling it when I wake up!
#2 is to rearrange and organize my entire room and wardrobe. I might need 2 weeks just for that task. :(
#3 is to start the semester off with all As. I hope that's possible.

I know I really suck at sticking to posting things since I do a lot of my blog posts on my phone. It's hard to keep up on daily posts like I would love to do. So hang in there with me this country girl may actually be getting wifi soon so I'll be able to get on my laptop and use real Internet for once in my home. Crazy it's the 21st generation and we are still running on good ole dial-up!

Ooh I Love Office Supplies

After I got off work this morning I made a pit stop to Wally-World and got nothing on my list! Why do I do that to myself I needed 3 things and came out with only one item I really needed. I tend to stroll threw the place like I have all this cash to just spend and what do you know I easily could have spent over a hundred doll hairs!

Summer Retreat!

My chapter had the honor to stay at Hanover College this past weekend for some fun. We are so grateful that we got the opportunity to stay here and bond over the weekend. Our college doesn't have Greek life housing so it's an experience we cherish and have fun with. Like our president said this weekend "we get to play house!" I loved getting to see everyone because we all have been super busy this summer and most of us are back in our hometowns.
I am so glad I joined Phi Mu because it has gave me my best friends! I don't know what I would do without these girls.

We had our own little mini road trip and had a blast while we were at it. There wasn't a quite moment there or back home. The bond I have with these girls is incredible and don't know what I would do without them in my life.
I love having the opportunity to do certain things like I did this weekend it always puts excitement into my days and I love every minute of it.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Exciting News

This vacation will always be special to the both of us. Our very first night there Clay surprised us all with something I have been dreaming of for the past couple of years. It all started when Clay was finishing up the spaghetti sauce for his mom while they went out fishing. We were talking about how much we loved one another, and he had told me I had came into his life at the right time. I of course started to cry because no one has expressed that kind of emotion and love for me. He continued to tell me that I was his one and only and I had saved his life. Now what girl doesn't get emotional over that! I sure was.
We began filling our plates full of noodles and sauce, and then made our way out to the steps of the cabin. Clay proceeded to express his love for me while I stuffed my face with spaghetti...how romantic was I. He ended up putting down his plate and proposed to me! What the!? I had no clue it was the real thing, because he would joke around with me all the time about it. He looked me dead in the eyes and said no Shelby I am serious. I guess I should have known when he used my full name and said I want to spend forever with you. Of course then I realized this was the real deal and I put down my plate and started crying. I don't even remember when I let go of him because all I wanted to do was be held. I really wish someone was there to capture our moment for us, but I know I will never forget it and will always be reminded when we return back every year.

Planting our Gardens

Gardening planning and prepping has gone underway! I'm so excited to have a bigger garden than last year and to have more of a variety. My man bought this beast tiller to get down and dirty in the ground.
We bought a few seeds as well to get a start on our planning. I made a map of what I want my area to look like.

Clay started his garden a few weeks ago and got all these lovely green plants to put in his garden.
Home Depot had so many pepper plants and different tomato plants he decided to get a few of each us some onions. Once we got back to the house we began getting dirty!

Looking good with that rake! I was raking up all the top soil so we could use to nice soil underneath. We had so much fun being outside and getting some fresh air.
The aftermath of my awesomeness.

I can't wait to start seeing these plants grow and to pick fresh veggies out of the garden to eat.
My babe getting his hands dirty putting these beast plants in the ground.
My awesomeness once again with putting stacks and twine around Clays plants. Starting to come along.

A little baby tomato plant. We got 4 different kinds of tomatoes this year and I hope they are delicious and juicy!
My garden is coming along slowly we got the tiller out today and began get the area all tilled up, but the ground was extremely hard so hopefully we have better luck on Thursday. Here is a picture of what I started on before there was any tilling. I planted sweet potatoes and I really hope they grow!

I was very proud of my work because it took me so long to do. This area looked like a mess with weeds and dead grass so I'm glad I cleaned it up. It makes the deck area look much nicer.
Today after I got back from my run Clay began working on my garden. I'm so grateful to have a man who does so much for me and enjoys it. It was a perfect day to be outside as well.
My man getting his tilling on. I must say a man at work is extremely sexy. Can't wait to get back out there again on Thursday and hopefully start planting my garden.
I hope to have cantaloupe, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, beans, watermelon, cucumbers, cauliflower, asparagus, strawberry plants, and cabbage this year. I hope they all come up and look delicious!

Commit To It!

When 2013 rolled around many of us decided to make changes to our lives. Personally I made the change to be a healthier me and find a new love for working out and changing my body. I will not lie there have been a lot of struggles along the way where I haven't been fully committed to my new lifestyle change, but I am going to share a few things that have helped me keep my mind on my main focus, which is staying healthy and sticking to it.
Many people have asked me how do you do it? Well here are some of the answers to those questions.
Q: How to get started?
A: It all began on November 4th, 2012 when I started doing AdvoCare. Being on this product helped me get my mind focusing on the right foods to eat and fuel my body. I focused on one thing at a time so I didn't overwhelm myself. After I figured out the correct foods to be eating at certain times of the day I gradually added in workouts. I looked to Pinterest for many ideas, but I found that I would pin them but not return to them to actually do them. So from there I started going to the gym. For me being in a setting with an instructor or trainer is the best way for me to get my workouts in. I started with Zumba where I went 4 times a week, but I got bored with this class and looked for something else. That is where I fell in love with this class called H.E.A.T. which stands for High Energy Aerobic Training. You can burn 600 calories at a class like this for just 1 hour! I like this class because we do everything from cardio, to weight lifting, and even abdominal workouts. A full body workout for just 1 hour and you feel completely amazing & tired after one of these workouts.

Q: How to keep the momentum going?
A: This is always the challenging part of any exercise/diet plan. I found though if you can stick to a plan for just 10 days it will only get easier from there. Starting out is the hardest part because your not sure what you can eat. What I did was follow the AdvoCare plan and made sure I was on target 90% of the time, and if I wasn't sure if I could have something I simply just didn't eat it. As for getting into shape there were definitely days I woke up and didn't want to go to the gym, but I made myself go. Once I was there I was relieved I had gone! Setting your mind to it really is the key to any success story. Your mind is your biggest enemy or fan when it comes to making changes and sticking to them. Having a positive mindset and saying your going to do it will really keep the momentum going!

Q: What inspires you?
A: Everyone else who is getting amazing results! I can look around and see many of my friends making the changes I did and they are looking fabulous. Find someone to inspire you it will make your journey easier, because when you see someone else succeed your going to want those same results!

Q: What foods do you eat?
A: When losing weight it's important to eat many small meals a day. I eat egg whites, fruit/veggies, salads, chicken, fish, and a few whole grain items. I'm not a great cook so I try to just stick to things I can make, so eggs in the morning or oatmeal, raw fruit and veggies, and mixed salads with cooked/grilled chicken.

If you have any specific questions you can send them to me at simplypureandbeautiful@gmail.com I'd love to answer anything!

Vacation Planning!!!

I can't believe that time of the year has come again. For the past 2 years I have spent my Fourth of July in Minnesota with a week full of camping and fishing. Well that time has come and in a week I will be on my way up to the land full of lakes state with Clay. We can't stop talking about how much fun we are going to have while we are up there and it's getting me all psyched up and ready to go.
Since I have changed my eating habits we have been talking about what groceries to pack, so hopefully I don't slack off that week I'm there. Last year I remember us both spending way to much money before we left for vacation so we are brainstorming of what all we actually need and making lists so it makes shopping much more of a breeze. Heck we had all kinda of little items in our cart last year that we both spent $50 without even realizing it.
So instead of buying a bunch of crap that I won't use I splurged at Victoria Secret for some more clothes to take with me. There semi-annual sale was this week so I had to get me some new stuff! When I shop I buy per use and so I love comfy clothes and will pay a little extra for something that will last me a long time. Hopefully both my orders come in before I leave :)
Well I have one more week til I am in paradise but until then Ill just be working to save up for my trip!
Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!!

I'm Back in Action!

Wow it's been forever since I've posted on my blog. School got super crazy towards the end of the semester and then I started up work just a few weeks after we got out. I haven't had a break since I returned back to my summer factory job it seems. We have been working 10 hour shifts and one day during the weekend and let me tell you I am ready for a vacation. Working 3rd shift is wearing me out. Besides being a workaholic this last month I got back on my AdvoCare grind!
This is what a box of AdvoCares Herbal Cleanse looks like. It comes with 6 pouches of a Fiber Drink. 7 day herbal cleanse tablets. And 7 day probiotic pills.

Here is my product separated out for each day. Makes it so much easier when you wake up to just get started for the day.

So now I am all prepped out for the week and I started my 10 day cleanse yesterday and I'm ready to shred some unwanted waste and fat away before I head to Minnesota in a couple of weeks!! Man am I so excited to be out on the lake and just relax for a whole week. Doesn't get much better than that. Unless I was on a beach in Florida some where then yea it could get better than a lake but I will settle for a week up north. Haha.

Besides that so much has happened since I haven't been blogging in a while. I recently turned 21 (June 2) and had the best birthday weekends. My boyfriend Clay took me out two weekends in a row and I had so much fun celebrating it with him.
We had dinner at Scotty's Brewhouse in downtown Indy then hit the bars with some of my friends and sisters :) I am so grateful I have this man in my life because he will literally do anything to make me happy. I can't wait to one day be his wifey!!
I absolutely love this photo of us from the night. He truly is my Prince Charming and I can't wait to make more special memories of milestones and new chapters in our lives together. :)

Another special person I got to spend my birthday with is my big Annie!
This girl and I had an instant bond when we met and then we became big and little! I will never forget the day I got her as my big and she will never know how much laughter and great times I have had with her while she was an active member of Phi Mu. Hope to go out again really soon with all of my sisters who came out to make my birthday spectacular!!
Us at Kilroys looking like we had a pretty good night!!

Other than turning 21, which was a really big deal haha, Clay took me to see Tom Petty this last weekend! It was by far one of the best concerts I've ever been too.
Just look at all the people that came out to see this guy!
Clay and I had a blast while so did our 5 other friends that came along with us for the ride!
I'm looking a little drunk but that's okay! I kinda was haha but also was running on 4 hours of sleep from a super busy weekend. It was all well worth it though. This past month has been so much fun and I can't wait for more exciting events to come up along the way!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful sumer and hope you enjoy this post even if it was a little jumbled with multiple things that really weren't that important haha.
Well adios amigos (not sure if that's correct considering I don't know a lick of Spanish) :))

Ps! I don't always look fancy so just thought I'd share :)

Summer Is Getting Closer!!

Schools out for the SUMMER!! Ahh I love being in college just because you start summer break so much earlier than high school. I have been on a kick for running lately since I joined the TONE IT UP girls Karena & Katrina and its awesome!! Today I went on about a 3 mile run and I have never felt so good in my life after I got back.
Sorry for the sick face but I was definitely disgusting afterwards. And then of course my man calls and says he's on his way to see me. Well sorry about his luck but he saw me at my worse. We played in my garden for a little bit and it was a perfect day for it. The sun was shinning and it wasn't to hot to be out working in it either. I actually got a little sun as well. Yay!! ☀
So since I have been on break for a week  I literally have been so lazy. I mean I get my workout on but that's about it. I need to socialize...where are all my frands!?  it's been nice having my mommy home from work though so that's a plus! I really hope she doesn't have to go back soon because its nice being able to hang out with the family.
Mommy and Daddy get their pics on. Haha so funny..dad really looks into it.
Me and my bubby! We were both totally rocking our Greek wear as well! ΦΜ & ΛΧΑ. I was kinda surprised my brother joined a Frat but it's nice to be able to have something in common among many other activities!
